Alfa Romeo Giulietta

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta’s legacy stretches as far back as the 1950s and recently, in 2010, a new Giulietta was born to fulfil the role of a small family car in the form of a very good looking five door hatchback. The Giulietta comes with a choice of a number of engines, either petrol or diesel with the petrols ranging from 1.4 to 1.7 litres and the diesels ranging from 1.6 to 2.0 litres. The Giulietta has received a 5 star rating in Euro NCAP’s safety test making it ideal for a small family.

 

Alfa Romeo MiTo

The Alfa Romeo MiTo is a 3 door hatchback which can be categorised as a small family car. It has been on the road since 2008 and is currently still in its first generation. It was built on the same platform as the Fiat Grande Punto and the Vauxhall Corsa D. The MiTo offers some rather fuel efficient engines, with the 1.3 diesel engine achieving 61 mpg and the 1.6 diesel model producing 53 mpg. The MiTo has won a number of awards since its arrival in 2008 including an ‘International Best New Engine of the Year’ award in 2010 for the Multi-Air engine.

 

Alfa Romeo 159

The 159 is Alfa Romeo’s medium executive entry and it can come as either a saloon or an estate. It was designed to replace the 156 and it did so in 2005 and is marketed as a premium vehicle which offers its driver much in the way of comfort and space. It is cheaper than many of its rivals yet you wouldn’t know it based on its performance and classy image. Alfa are providing this car with a choice of 2 engines; a 1.7 litre petrol or a 2.0 litre diesel.
